Sloppy Writing 101.30

Adverbs are usually included on the lists of words to avoid. So I thought I’d hit a few of them.
Eventually.
Sometimes I use eventually when I don’t need it. Actually, most of the time I use eventually, it is unnecessary. Here are my examples from The Proper Way to Say Goodbye.
-Most of them eventually quit trying
-I refused to answer and eventually shut it off.
-Luckily, she didn’t question my being gone all night and eventually stopped blabbering.
-I suppose they’ll eventually find out. (This was the only one I might consider leaving, but all others… delete)
I don’t overuse this word, but all the above cases it’s not in dialogue, and I really don’t need it.
So watch out for eventually.
