A to Z – Quarantine

Last October after watching all the movies on TV before Halloween, I got the idea to do an A to Z on horror movies. I also have a story premise in the back of my head involving horror movies, so this fits into my research for that. So I’m going to talk about random horror movies.

First, I am no film critic, just a person who likes horror movies. And second, some of the posts may contain spoilers. So you have been warned.

Quarantine (2008)

IMDb Summary: A television reporter and her cameraman are trapped inside a building quarantined by the CDC after the outbreak of a mysterious virus which turns humans into bloodthirsty killers.

Cheese factor: Low
Gore factor: Low
Creep factor: Low
Could it happen? Yes.

I gotta admit, this one bored me. I probably would’ve shut it off, except I had to watch to the end to do my write-up.

I enjoy killer virus movies, but my biggest problem with this was the camera shots. Everything was so dark, and you couldn’t tell what’s going on a lot of the time. I usually don’t like those types of movies. I like to see what’s happening. No, they don’t have to show everything, but when so much of the movie is dark, I don’t like it.

So… um… It’s got a cool cover.

Man, I don’t have much to say. This post is kind of pathetic. Just like the movie. :)

You seen it?

I’ve seen this and enjoyed it. I know what you mean about wanting to see what’s actually going on in a film, that is a pain sometimes but in this film I didn’t mind so much as some others I’ve watched. Made me jump a couple of times so can’t be all bad, hey?

I actually liked it. :) I liked the whole camera angle thing and the fact that it has a “could happen” possibility factor. For some reason, I want to say this was based on a foreign movie, but I’m not sure why I think that….

I was brought up on good spooky movies. Though, I haven’t seen Quarantined and now I’ll make sure to stay clear…

I missed this one, but will look for it.

It always amazes me how all the studios seem to put out similar-themed movies all at the same time (weren’t there about five other “Outbreak” themed movies that year?).

I haven’t watched this movie but I did watch and enjoy Rec, which is the film this is a remake of. It’s worth checking out :)

I am a serious woos…I only like the B horror movies…the old black and whites is about as gruesome as I can tolerate, the others spook me too much…BUt give me “They Saved Hitler’s Brain any day!” Thanks for coming by my blog!

I have seen this one and I thought it was ok. I had a few questions when it was all said and done. However I would not watch it for a second time.
