Welcome to the Big Reveal
I enjoy reading author interviews, but often times they don’t ask the kinds
of questions I wonder about. So I’ve assembled a group of writers at
all levels, from un-agented to published, and every week I will
have a new question for them.
Are you creative or artistic in ways other than writing?
Eileen Cook, Published Author
I don’t know if I would describe myself as artistic, but I’m crafty. I knit and enjoy making various things like jewellery. I wish I was musical, but I can’t carry a tune to save my life. When I sing it sounds like someone stepped on a cat.
Kelley Lynn, Published Author
I guess so. I sing, so I would assume that counts. I used to sing in a classic rock band in the Milwaukee, WI area, but there’s just not enough time for everything. So now I just sing in my car. Maybe at a Karaoke bar
Lara Schiffbauer, Published Author
I used to be artistic by acting and drumming, but those were tough to continue once I had children. Writing enables me to be creative at home!
Chloe Banks, Agented Author
I don’t think I’m very creative! I think of myself as more logical/scientific. But I did teach myself to knit a couple of years ago, so I do that. And I’m currently trying to learn to sew, though I’ve only got as far as cushion covers. I do love to cook/bake stuff all the time – is that creative?
Valerie Cole, Agented Author
Writing is my only creative outlet. I’m a digital media analyst by day so my work is strategic and numbers based. It’s a nice right brain/left brain balance.
Jay Bendt, Un-agented Author
I am an illustrator and printmaker, so I rely on those skills for a lot of my creative process.
Mark Koopmans, Un-agented Author
I’m the cook in our house, but I wouldn’t see I’m very creative… I try… but I’m not that way inclined
