Flicks that stick – The are songs that I always associate with movies whenever I hear them. You can just see that scene in the movie when the song hits. And even 20 years after that movie, you still see it.

Oh Yeah by Yello – An awesome movie from the 80s. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. It’s at the very end where the jerk of a principal, who could never catch up with FB as he played hookey, is all defeated and kinda roughed up from his search for Ferris. It’s totally funny.

Foxy Lady by Jimmy Hendrix – Not exactly a JH fan, but this song always reminds me of Wayne’s World. Dana Carvey’s character imagining singing the song to a beautiful woman. Him bouncing across the floor doing the fox ears and then the hip thrust. It’s hilarious.

The House of the Rising Sun by The Animals – This movie reminds me of Casino. Awesome movie—the whole mob in Vegas thing. Deniro and Pesci together—love them. The song is played at the end where they’re wrapping up the whole story. I couldn’t get the video embeded for some reason, but if you watch it, be warned that about 5 minutes into it, there’s a very violent scene. And there’s a lot of swearing through the whole thing.

  1. Pretty much anything from the Footloose soundtrack. Also, weirdly enough, “Secrets” by OneRepublic always reminds me of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. It came on the radio the other day, and Scott and I were both like, “Remember that movie?”

  2. Kyra Lennon says:

Every single 80s classic that was in The Wedding Singer will always remind me of that movie. :D

  3. Shawn Yankey says:

Great movie song choices! Casino is such a great film. Loved Wayne’s World and Ferris Bueller too. Shawn from Laughing at Life 2
