A To Z – Zippy Songs

I hope you had as much fun as I did with A to Z. For my final post, I’ve got some fun and peppy. They make me want to sing along and bob my head to the beat. 🙂

Kodachrome by Paul Simon – This is an awesome song and always puts me in a good mood. I didn’t know what this song was about until a few years ago when I looked up the lyrics. I mean, what is kodachrome?

When I found out what he’s singing about, I liked the song even more. Although it seems a bit silly, a song about Eastman Kodak’s colored film for cameras. I guess Paul Simon’s got the magic touch, cause not everybody could successfully sing about this subject matter and make it interesting.

Punk Rock Girl by the Dead Milkmen – For whatever reason, I latched onto this song years ago. I couldn’t tell you any other Dead Milkmen songs and they’re really not my type of music, but I got a kick out of this one. The lyrics make me chuckle.

When I was a kid I had this Mickey Mouse Disco album. This was the last song on the album and it is a great wrap-up to a lively, family friendly, kids record. I have the cassette tape for this album and my kids listen to it. And I can still sing along to all the songs too.

This is a total feel good song if there ever was one.

What are some of your favorite ‘zippy’ songs?
